The first Nobu hotel in London translates a restaurant identity into a building. Dark timber, low corridor light, a brass door dial and a room tuned to arrive into after midnight, the brand carried by material and lighting rather than by signage.

A country house operating as a hospitality machine. The choreography is invisible precisely because the architecture is so loud.

Hospitality choreographed as descent: guests taken below ground, a sommelier retrieving a labelled magnum from a rock-cut niche, then a counter of small plates lit only by candles. The theatre is in the retrieval, not the pour.
